Following the passage of Europe’s GDPR, TrueVault’s mission was to make privacy compliance simpler through technology solutions. We discovered that companies wanted broader help understanding how to adapt to new laws internally and externally. They needed data mapping, help with transparent and accurate notices for their customers, and they wanted to understand what needed to change within their organization to follow the “privacy by default and by design” principle.
Shortly after GDPR, California passed the groundbreaking California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which kicked off the first wave of consumer privacy regulations in the US. At that point, we set out to build a comprehensive compliance solution that could take a US business with no privacy platform from 0 to 100 using a SaaS product with legal expertise baked in.
It’s safe to say that privacy isn’t going anywhere, and the need for TrueVault continues to be more and more important over time.
